With the lifting of travel restrictions worldwide, tourist travel is well and truly back. Add to that the spring half term, there has never been a better time for a one week break in Europe. That’s why we have come up with a list of five destinations perfect for a family trip away this half term week.

Did you know that Crete is the largest of all the Greek islands - yes bigger than Corfu, Samos, Santorini and Mykonos! For that reason, this is a place you want to spend a full week if you want to see all that is on offer.
Crete is known for its glorious beaches and impressive mountainscapes, and with that in mind, a visit to Seitan Limania Beach is a must. Nestled in a canyon leading out to the sea, this picturesque beach is a small area that is perfect during the off-peak season.
Another beautiful spot is Mirabello Bay - one of the largest bays in all of Europe. Surrounded by the Sea of Crete, Mirabello Bay offers a great place for a swim and a short distance away from the town of Agios Nikolaos where there’s plenty to eat and drink - a sure way to keep the kids happy.

Cairo is a hugely busy city full of vigor and energy. Of course, the Giza Pyramids are the main tourist attraction with them being just on the doorstep, but the entire city has plenty more to offer.
A wander through Cairo’s most famous bazaar, Khan al Khalili, will captivate all of the senses. And if the overcrowded chaos of Cairo's street hustle becomes too much for you, why not escape to the Greenery of Al-Azhar Park. Don’t forget, you won’t be short of Egyptian sun - Cairo can climb to more than 20° even in February, so plan accordingly.

Disneyland Paris is a special and unique experience whether you're going as a family, couple, and friend group. The vast, sprawling site comprises various different areas, meaning that you’re bound to find something that captivates you. Whether it’s meeting your favourite characters up in person, seeing incredible structures and familiar buildings, exciting rides, or a peak behind the curtain at the Walt Disney Studios Park.
If you’re looking for something more romantic to do for this Valentine's day, then head into the centre of Paris and take a strong alone the river Seine, or even better still, a sunset cruise - a picturesque experience with the current Spring night skies.

Castelo de São Jorge, situated on the city’s highest hill, is a must - if only for the views that you get from being at the tallest spot in Lisbon. As a result, it will take a little effort to get to the top, which might be something to consider if you have very young children. But the reward is 360-degree panoramic views of the entire city and a historic castle steeped in history.
Another great family spot is Lisbon’s Aquarium, otherwise known as Oceanário de Lisboa. With thousands of sea creatures and one of the largest indoor aquariums in Europe, there’s arguably no better place to take the kids, especially if it’s a rainy day - which albeit unlikely can happen in February.
Average temperature in Feb: 23°C
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and one of the most popular, with something for everyone to do. Siam Park is a Thai-themed water park in Tenerife’s Costa Adeje, boasting a vast selection of water slides and rides. Both family-friendly and adrenaline-filled, Siam Park is considered one of the best water parks in Europe. They also have a children's play area called Lost City, with plenty of different games and activities to keep them busy for an entire day. Also, the Park is only open Wednesday to Sunday, so keep that in mind when scheduling out your holiday.
If you’re looking for something more relaxing, don’t worry, Tenerife has 400km of coastline to offer. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to relax or get involved in some beach activities, this island has it all. Some of the favourites are Playa de las Teresitas, Playa La Tejita and Playa de los Gigantes.
